Teak Investment Packages
Teak Projects in Panama
We have more than 20 lots for reforestation projects in Darien, and more lots available in Coronado and Chepo.
The initial investment in our packages is broken down into 90% payment for the land and trees and 10% for the annual maintenance fee for a period of 8 years paid upfront.
Forest Teak anticipates thinning at ages 4, 8, 15, 18, and the final harvest at age 25, depending on market conditions. The year may change accordingly to the advisement of our forestry management team
Investors will receive the net thinning and harvest proceeds after a 20% management fee is deducted. 5 hectares of land yield between 900 – 1000 cubic meters of mature teak, calculated using the Hoppus Formula.
Title Deed vs Corporate Shares
Each project offers investors the choice of titling the land to the owner’s personal name or purchasing shares of the corporation which owns each parcel. Each of our projects is owned by Forest Teak and the projects are then segregated into parcels owned by a representation of shares. Shares can be easily transferred into the investor’s name or the investor can opt to transfer the land directly into their name.
While the land will be successfully transferred into the investor’s names, deeds are typically issued within a few years from the date of purchase. Deeds can be requested, at special request in advance or automatically provided after the initial 8 year period. Investors proceeding with residency will obtain the title deed after the 8 year period as Panama Immigration requires the Reforestation Company to main possession of the deed for the duration of the qualifying residency forestry project.
